Cleaning in wash stands
The equipment usually consists of a barrel containing the agent and a flush basin on top usually fitted with
a screen. The component is placed on the screen and the cleaning is started by pumping the agent up through
a handheld hose, which end is fitted with a brush. The cleaning medium will be continuously filtered while
flowing back into the barrel. These stands are very common in repair shops. Hydrocarbons or fatty acid
esters are commonly used with this type of equipment, also aqueous cleaners can be found occasionally but
these need to be kept at elevated temperatures.
